Heinz M. Buhofer held various leadership roles within the Metall Zug Group and its affiliated companies until his retirement, including Chairman of the Board of Metall Zug and Zug Estates Holding, as well as CEO of V-ZUG. He also served as Chairman of the Board of the local utility WWZ AG and as a member of the Foundation Board of the Ernst Göhner Stiftung.
After completing his studies in economics at the University of St. Gallen, he worked as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Zurich and published articles in international academic journals in the field of New Political Economy. His interest in the economic and game-theoretic analysis of institutions, as well as in the role of civil society, dates back to this period.
Today, he is actively involved in the Tech Cluster Zug and with organizations and foundations in the fields of climate and energy.
